All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice. The average pay for GPs working in Oughtibridge Surgery in the last financial year was £52728 before tax and national insurance. This is for 5 part time GPs.
Our practice nurses provide general nursing services and health promotion advice by appointment between 08:30 and 18:00. In addition, each nurse has special areas of expertise and responsibility: family planning (including emergency contraception), smoking cessation and allergies, as well as the management of chronic disease such as asthma, diabetes, COPD and coronary heart disease.
Our healthcare assistants provide blood sampling, blood pressures and urinalysis clinics between 09:00 – 11:30, and assists with medical examinations.
Our practice manager is responsible for the overall operation of the practice and is available to help you with problems or answer questions relating to the management of the practice or the NHS in general.
All our staff are bound by the same rules of patient confidentiality as the doctors and nurses.
Reception Team Manager
We have a very experienced and knowledgeable reception team. They are trained to help you as efficiently as possible. In order to do this, they may have to ask for information about your condition or other personal details.
Cheryl provides information, help with your queries and resolve problems relating to access to our appointment system and in-house clinics, referrals to the hospital services and local consultant-based clinics, and non NHS medical examination/reports.
Midwives are attached to the practice and they co-ordinate all antenatal and postnatal care.

A team of district nurses provide a specialist nursing service to individuals who are housebound. They assess the nursing needs of patients, advise about care and convalescence after discharge from hospital, and give advice and support to carers.

They work with the rest of the primary health care team to help you to help yourself lead as healthy a lifestyle as possible and reduce the risk of illness or premature death from preventable causes.

Our dispensers will dispense prescriptions for patients living in Wharncliffe Side, Bradfield and other outlying areas, during surgery opening hours. Please allow three working days if you would like a repeat prescription request to be dispensed.
